This evening I witnessed something that really impressed me.  It is one of two natural phenomenon that occur regularly and one of three ever documented in North America.  Qiantang River, China has the largest of these at up to 30 ft high ours being at 5 ft.  It is called a tidal bore.

So for a long time I have understood that all lenses have a 'sweet spot' where they perform the best.  I was hoping someone on here could help clarify some questions about this sweet spot...

First, is the sweet spot dependent on the camera body as well?
Second, how do you find the sweet spot...I am assuming that I would set the camera to aperture priority and shoot using a variety of settings but then what, what should I be looking for after the fact?

So my four years in Utah was great.  I will truly miss the many colors of Arches, Zion and Vermillion Cliffs.  I will also miss the beauty of the Tetons and Yellowstone.  The next page in my life has now started in Anchorage, Alaska so if anyone has any photo tips on locations or just wants to shoot it would be appreciated....Also if anyone is looking to get rid of a telephoto lens I am looking for one
